5 Types of Content Every Business Needs and Why!

September 20, 2022 by Advertising

Today’s customers are hungry for information and we are the ones to give it to them. How many times do you ask someone a question and if they don’t know the answer they “Google It”? I think in my case it is at least 8 out of 10. Then why not give the customer what they want. Think about the shows you watch. Does your spouse, sibling, parent or colleague watch the same things? Probably not. Well the same is probably true about your customer. They like to get their content in different ways. That is why every business needs to create different types of content to reach a variety of people.

5 Types of Content Every Business Needs

  1. Video is and has been one of the most powerful tools for reaching customers. The best way to capitalize on video content is to integrate it with your other marketing efforts. When done strategically, videos can be used to help increase engagement with your blog posts. They can also be used in social media and email newsletters. Video has something none of the other types of content has. It creates a huge impact through sight, sound motion and emotions.
  2. Podcasts are another form of content. With podcasts you are usually reaching that person on the go. Whether they are driving in the car, working on a project or baking a pie, (yum) these people are very interested in the topic(s) the podcaster is discussing. Many podcast are for entertainment purposes, but it is also a great way to teach someone a new skill or educate them on a specific topic. In 2022 over 17 million people listen to podcasts. The audience is still growing and is a great way to connect to a captive audience.
  3. Social Media is an important form of content in an unobtrusive way.  As a marketer, you need to understand how your consumers or audience absorb your content. It’s been proven that posting and sharing videos on social media is the way to go. Transparent and interactive content is key! Social media is social for a reason! People do not want to be sold on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, etc… They want to be entertained. Posting your content should be fun. You can sprinkle in a few educational post and deals, but for the most part, just keep the platform as a way to entertain! We know it takes time to develop and post social media, so why not use a social media poster to schedule and plan your posts. Using a social media planner can increase your traffic by 192%.
  4. Infographics are a great way of getting out content that may be boring. This is a great way of sharing a lot of boring stats or steps on how to do something. Think about the last time you bought something that needed to be assembled. Did it come with directions? Were they all written or did they have diagrams of how to assemble the product. This is the same thing; people can follow the step by step directions or absorb stats in a much easier way with infographics.
  5. Finally, we get to the old tried and true blog. One thing is certain. Being consistent when blogging is very important. If someone comes to your blog or website and sees the last blog is from 2019, they feel as though that business is not up on the latest and greatest ideas or care about their business. I know all of us are very busy, but it is important to educate prospect and show you are an authoritative figure in your industry. This can be accomplished by posting regular, informative information on your business or in your industry.

In summary, it may be hard to do all of these types of content at once and run a business in the process, but if you pick 2 or 3 of them and are consistent with them you will keep your customers informed and may even get some new ones.

Needless to say, if you are not using some of these in your content strategy, you are missing a great opportunity to engage your target audience, expand your brand and boost sales.

If you would like help with choosing the correct content to post get in touch!

YouTube Shorts Are Your Business’s Next Social Opportunity

September 9, 2021 by Advertising

Young female blogger and vlogger and online influencer live streaming a cooking show on social media using a smartphone

YouTube Shorts are the newest way for you to market and create content for your business. This social media platform is already connected to YouTube, so it’s that much easier for existing businesses to integrate Shorts into their social media marketing strategy if they are already YouTube users. Here’s why YouTube Shorts are the newest social opportunity for your business.

What are YouTube Shorts?

YouTube Shorts are YouTube’s effort towards short-form video. Similar to platforms like TikTok, short-form video has gained popularity in recent years due to it’s lightweight and catchy nature. Users also prefer this type of experience since it provides instant satisfaction and doesn’t require as much commitment when compared to longer video content. Shorts videos are 60 seconds or less, vertical (mobile 9:16 ratio), and show up in the designated YouTube Shorts app or on the “Short Shelf” within the existing YouTube app.

In the Shorts environment, YouTube shows an endless loop of videos to you that YouTube thinks you would like. YouTube bases this loop on your interests, searches, and watch history. The appeal of this short-form video loop is its “stickiness”. Each 60-second clip is immediate gratification after the next, which keeps users swiping.

How to Create Shorts

You can create a YouTube Short by uploading a video, filming the video within the App, or sampling available content from other YouTube creators, then using the Shorts editor to add music, text, and more. Keep in mind, if you sample content or music from another creator and that creator deletes that video, any Shorts that sampled the deleted video will automatically be set to “unlisted” and scheduled for deletion in 30 days.

You can add Shorts as another content hub on your existing YouTube page or create an entirely new YouTube dedicated to Shorts. The ladder is what is recommended if you believe adding Shorts will disrupt your current audience. For example, if your existing audience enjoys the way your content is already set up on YouTube, they may be turned off by Shorts, and that is when you would want to create a new YouTube page for your Shorts. On the other hand, keeping your Shorts connected to your existing YouTube page creates a home base for all of your content for watchers to enjoy.

YouTube Shorts for Businesses

Businesses have already begun using Shorts in creative ways to market them and their businesses, and it’s time for you to start now! The earlier you start adding content to Shorts, the more likely you are to show up on someone’s loop. This is because YouTube is doing everything they can to promote the new short-form video platform, and will reward creators who are attempting to share their content through it.

Another great thing about Shorts is that users don’t actually search for you to find you. YouTube puts your content right in front of people they think would like it, which adds viewers to your page organically and increases your potential for leads and new customers. Once they see your Short, they have the option to subscribe.

Shorts Best Practices

With Shorts, you only have 60 seconds (sometimes less) to grab the attention of your audience. The great thing about Shorts is that users can decide within a few seconds if they want to keep watching, but this is vital for creators to keep in mind. To combat this, creators must make the first few seconds of their Short captivating and keep the rest of the content shared in the video snappy. To add, Shorts loop if the user doesn’t swipe next, so when creating Shorts, pace the video accordingly and optimize it for replayability.

Another best practice is to keep your content relevant. Make sure to keep up with trends on the App. Whether it’s a popular song, moment, event, or practice, keeping up with the times is extremely important on a platform like this. Lastly, make sure your videos are rewarding. This could mean that your Short provides a solution, teaches the user something new, or simply entertains them.

All in all, the Shorts you create for your business on YouTube need to execute a promise to be successful. Viewers need to be shown a reason to keep watching within the first few seconds of a video, and then by the end of the video, they need to feel that reason was fulfilled. Start using YouTube Shorts for your business today to stay socially relevant and attract more leads to your business. Need some help with YouTube Optimization and setting up Shorts? Call Us Now! Why Make Video Content Part of Your Marketing Strategy?

May 10, 2021 by Denise Bernstein

Many marketers are waking up to the revelation that video content is a way more effective way to get the message across.

Simply put, video content is what your audience wants and expects. Spend time observing commuters on a train or in coffee shops. Most will be sporting ear buds, avidly fixated on some video playing on their device. This should tell marketers all they need to know about reaching the masses.

Video content is presently one of the biggest trends across the nation and consumed at an amazingly rapid rate. Engaging video content is necessary to make digital marketing efforts a success. Many corporations are using video for content marketing in innovative ways to get their message to their target audience.

make video part of your content marketing strategy

Here are 7 Ways to Use Video Content in Order to Reach Your Audience:

1) Highlight the Main Points of Your Message Using Video

Consumers are reading less and watching more. Video is the most demanded form of accruing news, trends and product research. Too much written content makes it hard for an audience to digest. While a short video with the main points highlight makes for a nice ‘appetizer’ of sorts that enables viewers to decide which morsels they would like to explore more in the written content below.

2) Make a Lasting Impression

People are more likely to grasp visual content and remember it long after reading an article or blog. Video helps your audience absorb your message by visually seeing and hearing your story. Visual messaging is more likely to grab and hold onto your target markets attention.

3) Make Your Message More Entertaining & More Likely to be Shared

Video is more sharable and inspirational than written content or still images. Creating video that is both informative and entertaining can build brand awareness.

Publishing new and engaging content is every marketer’s goal. It turns out video is a big part of consumer’s decision making process, in fact over 90% claim that video makes their purchasing decisions easier.

4) Cultivate Your Brand

Developing a relationship with your audience is an important way of connecting to them on a personal level. Video helps to humanize your brand and to establish a lasting rapport with the consumer. Posting informative videos on Youtube, Vimeo, Linked In and Facebook helps a brand create a deep relationship with viewers.

5) Create Higher Conversion Rates

Because consumers are more enticed by visual effects, video on landing pages are eighty percent more likely to convert than texts or graphics. For one, they keep viewers on the page longer and make it more likely they will explore the rest of your website.

6) Solve Problems

Video content that helps viewers solve problems, such as technical issues, product assembly or how to use a product are in high demand. A consumer will have a positive view of a company that makes it easier to use, install, assemble and learn about their product’s features.

How to video, product descriptions, specs and highlights of the benefits of purchasing your product are all good ways to utilize videos.

7) Product Reviews and Testimonials

Many buyers thirst for other opinions or consumer experience with products before making that final decision. Creating videos of verified customers to back up your product or service can be helpful in nudging potential customers further down the marketing pipeline.

As if often the case, time moves on and there is little chance of going back to traditional advertising. Video is now mainstream and needed to capture attention in the cacophony of online marketing. Your content need to brand and captivate its audience. Video is the most likely way to achieve that.

Get creative and have fun with your marketing videos. Viewers will appreciate your efforts and reward you accordingly. It doesn’t matter what industry or professional service you offer, video marketing your content will greatly impact your conversion rates and marketing strategy.

8 Social Media Marketing Trends that Are Worth Adapting in 2021

8 Social Media Marketing Trends that Are Worth Adapting in 2021

Social media is always evolving and shifting. Your challenge as a business owner is to adapt to these changes, so your brand messaging continues to resonate and drive meaningful results.

In order to make the most of social media marketing, first you need to understand which emerging (or already existing trends) are worth adapting this year.

While there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to having success across social media, it’s still worth implementing techniques that lead to building stronger relationships with your customers, while improving their impact on your bottom line.

8 Social Media Marketing Trends that Are Worth Adapting in 2021

1. Integrate Social Media Across Your Departments

If you want your brand to solve problems for people, then social media is going to tell you exactly what problems people have. By integrating social media across your departments, it ensures that important messages reach the most relevant people in the company. This will help you to build a business your customers and audience will care about.

2. Embrace Short- and Long-Form Video

Video usually works best for companies when it conveys a personalized message to their target audience with an educational, entertaining, or value-based perspective.

The ability to produce a video and then adapt it into different versions to promote your messaging across social media channels is one of the most effective ways to earn more viewership. Lengthier video isn’t necessarily better, but certain subjects, especially those with complexity, are more accurately communicated in depth. And after you’ve created longer video resources, think about the ways it can be broken down into shorter videos for sharing elsewhere later.

Embrace Short- and Long-Form Video

3. Invest in Dynamic Ads

Dynamic social ads feature products personalized to a person based on their shopping behaviors and other data points. They’re often more successful because they’re aligned to each specific shopper’s preferences by showing each individual items and messaging catered to them. Each is an opportunity to upsell and cross-sell customers, as well as reaching potential customers for the very first time.

4. Provide Social Shopping Opportunities

The ability to make a purchase directly from social media is becoming more widely available. If you limit the number of steps a person has to go through to make a purchase, you can increase conversions because the process is simpler and created to match the network’s design.

Begin by identifying what social shopping options are available (check out Facebook Shops, Instagram Shopping or Pinterest Shop), and understand the associated costs. Once you’ve set up an integration, it’s important to promote that you’re using the feature so your followers know it’s an option.

5. Use Stories to Engage with Your Audience

Businesses that use stories successfully are able to send a highly effective series of messages that are relatively affordable to create, and easy for audiences to view. Plus, they present an opportunity to showcase the people behind their brand, as well as a less produced, more authentic perspective of an organization.

Before you dive into stories, remember to begin where you’re already active, showcase both produced and impromptu content, and use the unique story features to your advantage.

 6. Use YouTube to Build Deeper Connections

YouTube visitors spend over 11 minutes per day on average on the platform, since it’s the second most preferred platform for TV viewers 18 to 34 years old. Plus, YouTube is accessible for brands of all sizes as survey respondents shared that choosing a video based on their interest is more important than video’s production value.

Start by determining who exactly your audience is, and identify what their interests, challenges, and passions are. The goal here isn’t to convert customers with every video, but instead to build a positive association with your organization that lasts for the long term.

7. Create Series to Build Audience

Consider using social media to help your company build an audience for your series that lives on your own properties as well. To make a lasting impression with your social media, commit to a series to regularly reach your audience on an important theme they’ll associate with your organization for the future.

 8. Feature Your Employees

People connect most with other people. Therefore, featuring the people behind your brand will help humanize your organization and form deeper connections with customers. Showcasing employees prominently on social media is important as it’s one of the best ways to build trust with consumers and familiarity with the purpose behind your organization.

Here’s Why Traditional Advertising Is So Important Amid the National Lockdown

May 4, 2020 by Advertising

Why Traditional Advertising Is So Important Amid the National Lockdown

Timing is an important factor when considering how to market your business. While COVID-19 and the national lockdown forced a lot of small businesses to close down, we can’t help but think how the traditional advertising is still a force to be reckoned with. Here’s why.

Radio Advertising

If you’re looking to reach a local audience at a more affordable cost, nothing beats radio advertising. It connects with the right people at the right time. It is easy to build a strong presence on the radio because people actually listen to radio ads and they don’t do the channel surfing the same way TV viewers do during program breaks.

According to the Nielsen’s 2019 Audio Today Report, which was recently made available, 272 million Americans listen to traditional radio every week, an increase of 7 million or about 2.5 percent, from 2016’s figures.

It’s been proven that radio provides a friendly environment for advertisers and the consumers respond positively to ads they hear on the radio. Believe it or not, Radio continues to be the number one mass reach medium, topping both TV and internet.

Businesses with a local target market really have no need to advertise on the national level. They should consider taking their radio advertising to regional and local stations.

Local radio stations tend to be an important way for the surrounding community to stay informed on events and news. Businesses can more easily connect to the community and their target customers by advertising on these stations. Most local radio station listeners are loyal and engage with their favorite station by calling in for contests, making comments or music requests. That means that if you advertise regularly, you’ll be better able to brand your business and create brand awareness.

Here’s an example of a radio ad we converted into a video promoting some of our local businesses:

TV Advertising

For decades now, TV advertising has been a very effective way to reach and engage with potential customers. Not to mention, local cable ads are very affordable. With the use of both audio and visual effects, TV ads create a mixture of motion and emotion. TV creates a more powerful impact than either of the two by themselves. That’s why television commercials can transmit more information to the viewer.

But that’s not it. When done right, video advertising enables you to display your product, demonstrate its use and the advantages of buying it. It can also help businesses connect emotionally with potential customers, which is so important in today’s climate.

Here’s an example of a local TV ad for one of our clients:

Multi-Screen Advertising

Did you know that the average US adult spends 78 thousand hours of the life watching TV? Knowing that statistic, it’s hard not to think that businesses should still be investing their marketing budgets in TV advertising. There’s a great opportunity out there to reach target audiences by being where the intended audience is hanging out. Not to mention that when you combine Television and Digital Advertising, you’re more likely to increase your ads impact.

Internet advertising will not replace traditional media, it will compliment them. – Jeff I. Richards

This type of advertising allows for more specifically targeting geographic and demographic areas, meaning you’re spending your advertising dollars on reaching your most likely customers.
